Based on the 10 minute song ‘Innerbloom’ by Rufus du Sol, this triptych responds to the idea of  ‘visual sampling’ by mimicking the process of copy, transform and combine in music production.

No.1 {A Graphic Score}

Deconstructs the layers within the song by visually notating each instrument, sample and effect as well as considering tempo and dynamics. The song is condensed down to 4 bars per stave and colour saturation reflects the dynamics in the song. This was broken down and notated by ear.

02 Summary.jpg

No.2 {A Summary}

An interpretation of the song as a whole. This composition responds to the creative process and natural progression that took place in the creation of this song by Rufus.

No.3 {A Remix}

An alteration and combination of the artworks based on What So Not’s remix of Innerbloom. This visualises the change in tempo, added samples/instruments/effects and the overall energy of the song.
